Blackhawks to play Wild in second round

The Chicago Blackhawks will play the Minnesota Wild in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs.

The Wild clinched their first-round series against the Colorado Avalanche with a 5-4 overtime win in Game 7 on Wednesday. The Blackhawks advanced to the second round by defeating the St. Louis Blues in six games. The Blackhawks clinched their series Sunday.

The Blackhawks possess home-ice advantage over the Wild. The first two games of the series will be played at the United Center in Chicago. Game 1 will be at 8:30 p.m. on Friday.

The Wild and Blackhawks met five times in the regular season. The Wild won 5-3 in Chicago on Oct. 26, 4-3 in Minnesota on Dec. 5, and 2-1 in Minnesota on Jan. 23. The Blackhawks defeated the Wild 5-1 in Minnesota on Oct. 28 and 3-2 in a shootout in Chicago on April 3.
