CHICAGO -- Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw has started skating again, but he will not play against the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals on Sunday because of a lower-body injury, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Saturday.
Shaw will miss his sixth consecutive game due to the injury. He skated Saturday for the first time since the injury.
“Probably sooner [than later that he'll play], but he’s not playing tomorrow,” Quenneville after practice on Saturday.
Shaw was injured after taking a hit from Minnesota Wild defenseman Clayton Stoner in the first period during Game 1 of their second-round series on May 2. Shaw was hit into the boards and fell to the ice before limping off and heading to the dressing room. He did not return for the remainder of the game.
Shaw has two goals, two assists, a zero rating and has averaged 15:54 of ice time in seven playoff games this season. He had 20 goals, 19 assists and a plus-12 rating in 80 regular-season games.
