How it happened: The Bulls blew a 27-point third quarter lead and gave away a win. The Bucks bench was the difference in this one, outscoring the Bulls bench 56-10. Rip Hamilton scored 30 points but it wasn't enough as the Bulls will remember this one for a long, long time. Ersan Illyasova led the Bucks with 18 points and hit several big shots down the stretch.
What it means: This one looked a lot like the Sacramento game a few years ago when the Bulls blew a 35-point lead. The Bulls had a 27-point lead with 2:50 left in the third quarter and they simply couldn't close. Tom Thibodeau looked furious, but there was nothing he could do. This game only reinforces what everyone knew: Thibodeau has no confidence in his bench. A game like this never would have happened over the last two years because of the defensive play of the Bulls' second unit. Since Thibodeau doesn't trust his second group, he decided to stick with his starters. That group ran out of gas and the Bucks did just enough to sneak out with a win.
Stat of the night: It's worth repeating -- the Bucks bench outscored the Bulls bench 56-10.
Hits: Hamilton was great, but nobody will remember his performance.
Misses: The Bulls' execution in the fourth quarter was brutal on both ends of the floor.
What's next: The Bulls face off against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
