How it happened: Jonas Valanciunas had 15 points and nine rebounds to pace the Raptors. Kyle Lowry had 13 points and six assists as the Raptors shut the Bulls down in the final 12 minutes. Luol Deng, who had missed five straight games because of an Achilles injury, had 16 points but it wasn't enough as the Bulls struggled to find any offense down the stretch.
What it means: The Bulls better hope they can find some semblance of an offense in the new year. They continue to have problems finding points when they need them and they are still struggling to close out games. It's a disturbing trend for a team that has played so well together over the past four seasons under coach Tom Thibodeau. When the Bulls needed to make a play in the waning moments they had nowhere to turn.
Hits: Taj Gibson had 12 points and five rebounds off the bench.
Stat of the night: The Raptors opened the fourth quarter on a 15-4 run and never looked back. Toronto outscored the Bulls 28-17 in the fourth.
What's next: The Bulls take on the Boston Celtics on Thursday night.
