Thibs: Rose showing 'daily improvement'

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said Derrick Rose is showing "daily improvement," but the organization is still unsure of when Rose will return from knee surgery.

Asked if there is a chance Rose could return this week, Thibodeau said: "I just go day by day. I just want him to continue to improve. When he's ready, he's ready. His focus is on the rehab, the team is focused on their improvement and our opponent and then at some point hopefully he rejoins us."

With all the recent injuries the Bulls have experienced, it may be hard for the Bulls to run full 5-on-5 scrimmages, but Thibodeau doesn't seem concerned.

"You can always find a way to get something done," Thibodeau said. "So I'm not concerned about that."

As has been the case recently, Rose fired up some extra jumpers after shootaround with his teammates and appeared to be in good spirits as he headed off the floor, asking cameramen if they had recorded the long range shot he hit before heading to the locker room.

"Every day he gets better and stronger," Bulls guard Nate Robinson said. "And hopefully he's on path, and he'll come back whenever he's ready."
