Bulls' 9 points in 3rd quarter a franchise low

CHICAGO -- A Chicago Bulls team struggling for consistent offense made some history Monday against the Miami Heat with the lowest scoring quarter during a playoff game in team history.

The Bulls’ nine points in the third quarter of Game 4 in the Eastern Conference semifinals was one less than the previous low of 10 set in the fourth quarter of a May 18, 2011 game, also against the Heat.

The Bulls' low for points in a playoff game was 69, at Detroit on May 5, 2007.

It was also their lowest output for a quarter this season.

The Bulls were just 2-of-13 from the field in the third quarter Monday with Nate Robinson going 0-for-6. Through three full quarters, Robinson was 0-for-12. Marco Belinelli led the Bulls in scoring in the third quarter with four.

The Heat, meanwhile, scored 17 points in the third on 8-of-20 shooting and took a dominating 61-42 lead into the final period.
