Former Chicago Cubs pitcher Mark Prior is attempting another comeback, according to a Foxsports.com report.

Prior, 29, is scheduled to throw for major league teams on Wednesday on the University of Southern California campus. The report says Prior, who has not pitched in the major leagues since 2006, has been working out with his longtime pitching coach Tom House.

Prior, the No. 2 overall pick by the Cubs in the 2001 draft, was 18-6 with a 2.43 ERA and 245 strikeouts in 211 1/3 innings in 2003. Shoulder problems limited him to just 57 starts over the next three seasons.
