Forbes: Cubs MLB's least efficient team

The price of a poor season has been steep for the Cubs, who are the least efficient team in Major League Baseball, according to Forbes.

The Cubs, who are 42-52 and 10 1/2 games behind the St. Louis Cardinals in the NL Central, have spent $2.07 million per win this season and are under-performing their projected win total by nine games. The median cost per win is $1.07 million in team payroll.

The San Diego Padres and Texas Rangers are the top two most efficient teams. The Padres spent $402, 291 in payroll per win and the Rangers doled out $600,445 a victory.
