Cubs reschedule game due to Pride Parade

Alderman Tom Tunney recently called on the Chicago Cubs to "be a good neighbor" during hearings for renovations to Wrigley Field. On Thursday, the Cubs pointed out in a press release they are trying to be just that when they announced there will be no game on Sunday, June 29, to ease congestion in the neighborhood during the Pride Parade.

The Cubs will play a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, June 28, against the Washington Nationals. The first game will be played at 12:05 p.m. and the second will be at 6:15 p.m., and they will be separate admissions. That sets up a rare Sunday off day for the Cubs.

The last day-night doubleheader at Wrigley Field was July 4, 1983, according to Cubs historian Ed Hartig.

In the release, the Cubs said the change was made at the request of Tunney.
