Quade optimistic about bullpen's health

Chicago Cubs manager Mike Quade said Friday that his bullpen is intact and Carlos Marmol most likely will be ready to handle the closing role on Friday.

"I'd love to be back to normal today," Quade said. "When I talk to [pitching coach Mark Riggins] and [bullpen coach Lester Strode] and Marmol, I'm hoping that's what I hear. We haven't had [continuity] for a few days, and it's cost us a few games the last few weeks."

The Cubs' bullpen has been in disarray since Marmol and set-up man Kerry Wood became ineffective before the All-Star break.
