Minor league catcher suspended 50 games

Major League Baseball suspended Chicago Cubs minor league catcher Luis Flores 50 games after testing positive for Methylhexaneamine, a stimulant.

The suspension of Flores, who plays for the Double-A Tennessee Smokies, is effective immediately.

Flores, 24, is batting .275 with seven home runs and 20 RBIs in 40 games with the Smokies. He was a seventh-round pick of the Cubs in the 2008 draft.
