Evanston's Farr commits to Xavier

Evanston senior forward James Farr committed to Xavier on Monday, according to his club coach Mike Weinstein.

Farr will also reclassify himself as a Class of 2012 prospect and attend a prep school next year, according to Weinstein.

Farr, a 6-10 power forward, chose Xavier over interest from Ball State, Bradley, Loyola and UIC.

“They’ve got a kid whose potential is just scratching the surface,” said Weinstein, who coaches the Rising Stars club team. “As a freshman, he was 5-11. He’s now 6-10. He’s a kid who can really shoot it. He’s long. A couple years from now, you’ll see a very special player.”
