Marist senior all-area kicker Ben Falloon chose Harvard over a preferred walk-on spot at Northwestern on Wednesday.
“I had offers from [Harvard] and Penn, and I was also offered to be a preferred walk-on on Northwestern, but Harvard was the right fit,” Falloon said.
Fallon was one of the area’s most accurate kickers this season. He connected on 7-of-11 field goals with all seven coming from 30-plus yards. His longest was from 50, and all four of his misses were from 50 yards and beyond. He also made 32-of-33 extra points and punted for a 38.2-yard average on 43 punts.
“He is by far the most mentally tough player I’ve been around,” Marist coach Pat Dunne said. “The kicks he’s had in high-pressure situations, I’ve never seen anyone so mentally tough. He also has one of the best work ethics I’ve been around.”
