White Sox-Royals postponed Saturday (rain)

CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox wasted little time calling off both Saturday’s regularly scheduled game against the Kansas City Royals, and the resumption of Friday’s suspended game as well.

With inclement weather predicted all day Saturday, the White Sox postponed both games four hours before first pitch.

Friday’s suspended game now will resume before Sunday’s regularly scheduled game at 1:10 p.m. The regularly scheduled Sunday game will follow approximately 30 minutes after the last out of the completed suspended game.

Friday’s game between the White Sox and Royals was suspended because of rain with the score tied 2-2 at the end of eight innings.

Fans with tickets to Sunday’s game can see both the completion of the suspended game and the regularly scheduled game. Fans with tickets to Friday’s suspended game can purchase a discounted $10 outfield ticket for Sunday’s games only by presenting their Friday ticket at the U.S. Cellular Field box office.

A makeup date for Saturday’s postponed regular game was not determined. The team asks fans to keep all tickets and parking coupons for Saturday’s game until a reschedule date has been announced. The Royals’ remaining series in Chicago against the White Sox are July 17-19 and Sept 29-Oct. 1.

The Jose Abreu rookie of the year blanket giveaway scheduled for Saturday will be rescheduled for a later date.
