Gavin Floyd hopes to end his skid vs. Twins

To say Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Gavin Floyd has struggled against the Minnesota Twins is putting it mildly.

Floyd is 0-8 with an 8.86 ERA in his last eight starts against the Twins. It’s the longest current streak of consecutive starts lost by an active pitcher against a team, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

The Twins have hit .380 against him during that span and .314 over his career.

Joe Mauer has especially owned Floyd. Mauer has recorded a hit in his last nine at-bats against Floyd, which is the longest current streak against a pitcher, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

Floyd will look to change that when he takes the mound against the Twins on Tuesday.

Here’s a look at the White Sox’s lineup:

1. Alejandro De Aza, CF

2. Kevin Youkilis, 3B

3. Adam Dunn, DH

4. Paul Konerko, 1B

5. Alex Rios, RF

6. Dayan Viciedo, LF

7. Alexei Ramirez, SS

8. Tyler Flowers, C

9. Gordon Beckham, 2B
