Sox lineup: Hudson gets rare start at 2nd

CHICAGO -- Chicago White Sox manager Robin Ventura can empathize with Orlando Hudson.

After signing with the White Sox to play out of position at third base, Hudson was forced to the bench with the acquisition of Kevin Youkilis from Boston. While that gives Hudson a chance to return to his natural position at second base, his opportunities for playing time have been sparse.

Hudson will make his second start at second base on Saturday since the Youkilis trade.

“It’s not easy for a guy that has played every day to be able to one, accept it [and] two, to actually do it and feel comfortable at it,” Ventura said. “It’s still a process with Orlando and I get it. I went through it as far as trying to stay sharp, trying to do all the things that make you feel confident when you actually do get that chance to play. I understand that it’s a process for him.”

Here’s the rest of the White Sox lineup behind starter Gavin Floyd:

1. Alejandro De Aza - CF

2. Kevin Youkilis - 3B

3. Adam Dunn - DH

4. Paul Konerko - 1B

5. Alex Rios - RF

6. A.J. Pierzynski - C

7. Dayan Viciedo - LF

8. Alexei Ramirez - SS
