White Sox Opening Day facts

CHICAGO -- Not only is Monday's game the seventh time the Chicago White Sox have opened a season against the Kansas City Royals, it is the 10th time in the last 11 seasons they have opened the season against an American League Central opponent.

• The last time the White Sox and Royals faced each other in a season opener, the White Sox picked up a 4-2 victory in 2009.

• The White Sox are 58-54 on Opening Day (3-3 against the Royals) and 26-23 when opening the season at home. In first games of the season at U.S. Cellular Field, the White Sox are 4-1.
