Jordan Danks recalled for 3rd time

CLEVELAND -- The Chicago White Sox recalled outfielder Jordan Danks from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday to take the roster spot vacated when Jake Peavy was traded to the Boston Red Sox late Tuesday.

The White Sox were down a backup outfielder when Blake Tekotte was sent down before Tuesday's game in order to clear a roster spot for pitcher Andre Rienzo, who made his major league debut against the Cleveland Indians.

Danks will be in his third stint with the White Sox this season. He has played in 32 major league games this season, nine of them starts. He is hitting .135 (5-for-37) with a home run and two RBIs.

In 54 games at Charlotte, Danks was batting .279 with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 28 RBIs. Over his last six games he is batting .400 (10-for-25) with a home run, five RBIs and six runs scored.
