White Sox add Tekotte, Leesman

CHICAGO – The White Sox made two roster moves in advance of Friday’s day/night doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins, recalling outfielder Blake Tekotte and purchasing the contract of Charlie Leesman.

Tekotte takes the roster spot of Casper Wells, who was claimed off waivers Thursday by the Philadelphia Phillies. He is in his third stint with the White Sox this season, going 5-for-20 (.250) with three runs scored in 16 previous games.

The White Sox have newly-acquired outfielder Avisail Garcia dominating in his initial handful of games at Triple-A Charlotte

Per the latest collective bargaining agreement, teams can carry 26 players for scheduled day/night doubleheaders and Leesman will take that extra spot.

The left-hander started the season on the disabled list following surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament tear, but returned to go 3-1 with a 3.47 ERA over 13 starts (seven quality) at Triple-A Charlotte.

Leesman, who was in consideration for a call-up last season, led the International League in 2012 with a 2.47 mark. The Cincinnati native and former 11th-round draft pick in 2008, will wear uniform No. 61 with the White Sox.
