A.J. Pierzynski seems to always find a way to get under the skin of his opponents.
After breaking a bat while popping out in the third inning Thursday, Pierzynski threw the handle toward the Twins dugout. Jim Thome threw it back toward home plate and appeared to have words with Pierzynski when he came to the plate a half inning later.
Both sides downplayed it after the game.
"That's kind of irrelevant to the game," Thome told MLB.com. "We've got to battle. We can't worry about all of that."
"We were just talking," Pierzynski told MLB.com. "Nothing. ... Nothing."
