Second-period wrap: Hawks 1, Wild 0

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Minnesota Wild, 1-0, after two periods at the Xcel Energy Center.

Troy Brouwer scored his first goal of the season at 19:29 of the second period. He picked up a Duncan Keith rebound and slid it by an out-of-position Niklas Backstrom. Brouwer started the game on the fourth line, but has moved between the first and fourth lines throughout the night.

Through 40 minutes, the Hawks are playing one of their better defensive games one night after one of their worst. They’ve limited Minnesota to just 16 shots.
