The Blackhawks have added a prospect from one of America's elite college hockey programs.
Jimmy Hayes announced on Wednesday that he would forgo his senior season in order to join the Blackhawks organization. The 6-foot-5 220-pounder has inked a three-year deal with the Hawks.
“We wish Jimmy the best of luck as he begins his professional career with the Blackhawks,” BC head coach Jerry York said in a statement. “Jimmy represented himself very well during his three years at Boston College and he will be missed.”
Hayes was originally drafted in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by Toronto. His rights were dealt to the Hawks this past summer.
