2nd-period wrap: Blues 2, Blackhawks 0

ST.LOUIS -- The Chicago Blackhawks trailed the St. Louis Blues 2-0 after two periods at the Scottrade Center on Tuesday night.

The Blues increased a 1-0 first-intermission lead with a power-play tally when Chris Stewart redirected a centering pass that got by goalie Corey Crawford.

Meanwhile, the Hawks power play, which ranks just above St. Louis near the bottom of the league, did nothing with three second-period chances. Jaroslav Halak made one Grade-A save on Patrick Kane after he received a pass in the slot from Marian Hossa with a man advantage. The Hawks offense has been nearly non-existent.

Vladimir Sobotka scored the first Blues goal in the first period.
