2nd-period wrap: Flames 4, Blackhawks 2

CALGARY, Alberta -- The Chicago Blackhawks trailed the Calgary Flames 4-2 after two periods at the Scotiabank Saddledome on Friday night.

The Hawks must have left their game in the locker room to start the second period as the Flames scored twice in the opening minute to take control of the game at 3-1.

First, Rene Bourque slipped one by Corey Crawford's glove then 17 seconds later Paul Byron sent a back-hander past him as the Hawks turned the puck over in their own zone.

Chicago got back to within one goal when Marian Hossa fired a one-timer on a 4-on-3 power play but the Flames extended the lead back to two with a late goal by Curtis Glencross. He was wide open on the far side where Jay Bouwmeester found him from the point.

The Hawks have had poor D-zone coverage in front of Crawford all night long and it’s cost them. Duncan Keith is a team worst minus-3 through 40 minutes.
