First period wrap: Hawks 1, Kings 0

LOS ANGELES -- The Chicago Blackhawks lead the Los Angeles Kings 1-0 after the first period at the Staples Center.

The lone goal of the opening 20 minutes was scored on a wrap-around move by Andrew Brunette while goalie Jonathan Quick was scrambling to recover. Dave Bolland lay in the crease as the puck went in but did not interfere with the goalie.

Corey Crawford made several nice stops in the period including one with his right pad on Kyle Clifford in-close. The Hawks had the majority of good scoring chances outshooting the Kings 10 to 6.
