2nd-period wrap: Blues 1, Blackhawks 0

The Chicago Blackhawks continue to trail the St. Louis Blues 1-0 after two periods at the United Center on Sunday.

The Hawks played much better in the middle 20 minutes, but still couldn’t dent the back of the Blues net. St. Louis goalie Brian Elliott was asked to make tougher saves -- and he answered -- as the Hawks were in the Blues’ zone for much of the period.

The lone goal in the game was scored late in the first by Andy McDonald as Nick Leddy and Corey Crawford couldn’t corral a loose puck. The Hawks have been outshot 22-13 through the first 40 minutes.
