Hawks agree to deal with Clendening

The Chicago Blackhawks have agreed to terms with defenseman Adam Clendening on a three-year contract, the team announced on Friday.

Clendening, 19, was a Blackhawks second-round pick in 2011. He had a career-high 33 points (four goals, 29 assists) in 38 games with Boston University. The Niagra Falls, New York native ranked second among league blueliners with a career-high 29 assists and 15 power-play points (two goals, 13 assists) during his sophomore campaign and ranked fifth on the Terriers with a +11 plus/minus rating.
