Bolland still out with upper-body injury

CHICAGO – Chicago Blackhawks center Dave Bolland will miss Sunday’s game against the Columbus Blue Jackets due to an upper-body injury and is considered day-to-day, Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said.

“He’s doing all right,” Quenneville said of Bolland prior to Sunday’s game. “He’s progressing.”

Bolland suffered the injury during Friday’s game against the San Jose Sharks. He played 13 shifts in 11 minutes, 37 seconds through two periods and did not return to the game in the third period. Quenneville said he did not skate on Sunday.

Bolland has five goals and two assists in 16 games this season. He has been playing on the team’s second line with Patrick Kane and Patrick Sharp.

Quenneville said center Marcus Kruger will replace Bolland on the second line. Kruger, who has been on the fourth line, has three goals and three assists and is averaging 12:58 of ice time in 17 games this season.
