Vegas has Blackhawks as slight favorites

CHICAGO -- Las Vegas has the Chicago Blackhawks as a slight favorite to win the Stanley Cup over the Boston Bruins.

The Hawks are a 7/5 series favorite based soley on home ice advantage, Chuck Esposito of the Sunset Station in Las Vegas said on Tuesday.

"They clinched against Los Angeles at home, they clinched against Detroit at home and Minnesota as well," Esposito stated. "All three on home ice. That's the difference in the odds."

Esposito admitted early betting, when the match-up was first determined late Saturday night, fell towards Boston.

"Early action was on the Bruins, but not enough to move the number," he said. "Since then, good two-way action."

There are odds for every scenario in the finals:

Hawks winning in four games is 10-1, in five is 6-1, in six is 4-1 and the Hawks winning in seven games is 3-1. Boston has slightly higher odds for each of those scenarios.

The Bruins winning in four games is 15-1, in five is 8-1, in six is 6-1 and Boston winning in seven games is 5-1.

"And Game 1 has not moved," Esposito said. "Also, they are playing the under (5 goals) in game 1.

"Money is coming in both ways on the game. And the series. It should be great for wagering. It's a dream match-up. With so many transplants out here and an Original 6 match-up I'm guessing for a record handle."
