Hinrich (elbow soreness) out vs. Heat

Kirk Hinrich is not playing Thursday night against the Miami Heat because of ongoing issues with his right elbow.

Hinrich, missed seven games because of an elbow infection, returned and had 10 assists in a Tuesday win over the New Orleans Hornets. Nate Robinson started in Hinrich's place.

"It's day-to-day," Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau said. "So hopefully (he'll return) soon. We'll see."

Thibodeau said Hinrich was suffering from general soreness in the elbow and that the infection hadn't returned.

"There's always concern (when) you miss some time," Thibodeau said. "Hopefully he'll be fine."

Hinrich has missed 13 games this season because of various injuries.

"You know how tough-minded he is and you know how badly he wants to be out there. From that standpoint (the injuries) are frustrating, but we have more than enough. Nate has stepped up and played well, Marquis (Teague) is going to have to be ready, he's gone out there and played well. We need everybody."

Thibodeau said the Bulls are planning on Hinrich flying with the team to Charlotte after the game.
