The Chicago Bulls have slid to 13 in Marc Stein's weekly Power Rankings, one notch behind the Milwaukee Bucks. After losing three of their last four, including Sunday's game to the Los Angeles Lakers, Stein writes:
"The Bulls can insist all they want in the wake of this ESPN Chicago story that they're not trying to pressure Derrick Rose into returning ASAP. The problem now is that the mere appearance of putting pressure on D-Rose is a mess of the proverbial spilled ketchup that ain't going back in the bottle."
What the Bulls have done on the floor over the last couple weeks is secondary to all the hoopla surrounding Rose. The only question Bulls fans have is whether the former MVP will return this season. The only way anyone will start focusing on the product on the floor is if Rose returns. If not, the soap opera that has been growing over the past 10 months will continue to hover over every facet of the organization.
