Thibs: Rose 'unlikely' to play vs. Nuggets

DEERFIELD, Ill. -- It doesn't sound as if Derrick Rose will make his long-awaited debut Monday night against the Denver Nuggets. Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau said it is "unlikely" Rose will return as he continues to rehab from a torn ACL in his left knee.

Thibodeau was more optimistic regarding the chances of injured forward Taj Gibson returning.

"We'll see tonight," Thibodeau said of Gibson, who has been out since Feb. 26 because of a sprained MCL in his left knee. "It was encouraging to see him do the things he did today but we want to make sure he's ready."

The news isn't as hopeful for Bulls guard Kirk Hinrich, who is expected to miss his 22nd game because of a sore foot.

"Kirk didn't do much," Thibodeau said. "Taj did a lot so we'll see. They're moving along, they're getting better."

As for Richard Hamilton, even Thibodeau isn't sure if and when he will return this season because of a lower back injury.

"He's doing a little bit more, but he's still not practicing yet," Thibodeau said.

Thibodeau was asked if there is a chance Hamilton won't be back this season because of the injury.

"There's an unknown. It's (a) back so those things are tricky. We just have to wait to see," Thibodeau said.
