Butler (ribs) game-time call vs. Hawks

ATLANTA -- Chicago Bulls swingman Jimmy Butler will not go through shootaround and is a game-time decision for Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks because of sore ribs, according to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau.

Butler, who injured the ribs in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets, missed Sunday's game against the Miami Heat. He did not sound confident about playing against the Hawks.

"There's been a little bit [of improvement]," Butler said. "But with your ribs it's just tough. You can't move, you get hit and it's hard to breath at times. Yeah, there's improvement, but it's still kind of hard."

Butler admitted that he is still in pain.

"It hurts," he said. "I guess you got to deal with it. This is the life we chose. Got to play through it."
