Bulls waive Richard

The Chicago Bulls waived forward Chris Richard on Wednesday, trimming the roster down to 16.

Richard, 25, played in 18 games last season with the Bulls and averaged 2.1 points a game and 3.3 rebounds. He was drafted in the second round of the 2007 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves after playing at Florida with the Bulls' Joakim Noah.

The Bulls released Richard on June 30, the day before free agency began. He was re-signed on Sept. 27.
