Rooney among Man U's roster this summer

English Premier League champion Manchester United announced its provisional travel roster for the Herbalife World Football Challenge this summer. One stop takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday, July 23, when Man U faces the Chicago Fire at Soldier Field (televised on ESPN2).

Noteworthy players include England forward Wayne Rooney and midfielder Rio Ferdinand, Portuguese winger Nani and veteran Welsh midfielder Ryan Giggs.

Several players, including Mexican international forward Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, are set to join the club during the tour.

The Fire-Manchester United match on July 23 marks Man U's second game during the World Football Challenge. The Red Devils open with a July 13 match at the New England Revolution.
