A look at the Bengals' snap counts vs. Jets

CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals left their starters in a little longer Saturday night than they did the week before.

After quarterback Andy Dalton took just eight snaps against the Chiefs during the Week 1 preseason opener at Kansas City, he saw more than double the action against the Jets, receiving 17 snaps. As is the case this time of year, the backup and reserve players saw the most action in Week 2 as they keep trying to prove themselves and earn spots on the roster. The only active Bengals player who did not play was backup kicker Quinn Sharp.

H-back Orson Charles, who didn't take a single offensive snap last season, was on 25 offensive plays Saturday night.

Several players' snap numbers, like rookie cornerback Darqueze Dennard (hip), were affected by in-game injuries. After the game, coach Marvin Lewis didn't have any updates on injured players. Along with Dennard, fellow rookies Jeremy Hill (shoulder) and James Wright (hip) were run from the game, as were second-year players Rex Burkhead (knee) and J.K. Schaffer (head). Quarterback Tyler Wilson also left with a head injury.

Here's a snapshot of Cincinnati's snap counts from Week 2:
