CINCINNATI -- Another day, another addition to the Cincinnati Bengals' injury report.
This time, it was linebacker Vontaze Burfict who was listed among the injured. The team's leading tackler suffered a neck injury in last Sunday's loss at Cleveland. It appeared he was hurt in the second half, when he needed to be helped off the field at the end of one play.
Burfict's placement under the "did not practice" column on Thursday's injury report came one day after he worked in limited capacity during the Bengals' first practice of the week. Cincinnati hosts the New England Patriots on Sunday.
Also listed as not practicing were cornerback Leon Hall (hamstring), defensive end Michael Johnson (concussion) and guard Mike Pollak (knee). Although the report said Pollak did not practice, he was seen working out with the rest of the offensive line during the open period of the walk-through. It appeared he was practicing in a limited capacity.
Johnson's inclusion marked the second straight day the defensive lineman has missed. He didn't practice Wednesday after being diagnosed with concussion-like symptoms following last Sunday's game. He alerted trainers in the moments after the loss that he thought he was symptomatic. As is the case with most head injuries, there currently is no timetable for his return. It's possible he returns in time for this weekend's game, but there also is a chance he could miss it.
Along with Burfict and Johnson, cornerback Brandon Ghee was listed on the injury report, returning there with a thigh injury after being cleared to play last week following a six-week absence due to his own concussion.
One bit of good news on the injury front pertained to cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick. After being sidelined Wednesday, he was back in practice. He missed most of the last two weeks with a hamstring injury.
Here's the rest of the Bengals' injury report:
Did not practice: LB Vontaze Burfict (neck), CB Leon Hall (hamstring), DE Michael Johnson (concussion), G Mike Pollak (knee)
