The rookie was back running through holes and working in the passing game during the portion of the walk-through that was open to media. Coach Marvin Lewis said he wanted to hold Bernard out Thursday for precautionary reasons, but he had no reason to believe the first-year standout wouldn't play Sunday when Cincinnati hosts Green Bay.
Of the players who have been listed on this week's Bengals injury reports, only cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick appears in jeopardy of missing the game. He didn't practice all week after suffering an injury in Monday night's 20-10 against the Steelers.
"Other than Kirkpatrick ... our health seems to be fine," Lewis said. "We seem to be turning the corner with some of the other guys. It makes putting together the inactives list a little harder."
Receiver Marvin Jones was another player whose Thursday injury status was upgraded Friday. He was held completely out of Thursday's practice with a foot injury, according to the Bengals' practice report. He practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. During the open practice period, he ran routes and caught passes and didn't seem to show any signs of a serious ailment.
Cornerback Adam Jones has battled an abdomen issue all week, but he appears set to play, too.
Only left offensive tackle Anthony Collins, who missed much of the week with a knee injury, was still completely out of practice and dealing with it. The good thing for the Bengals is that starting left tackle, Pro Bowler Andrew Whitworth, appears set to play his most snaps of the season after missing the first game while he finished rehabbing an injured knee.
