CLEVELAND – Following victories over highly-regarded opponents, Solon and Avon Lake both moved into the top four of the ESPN Cleveland high school football Power Poll for the first time this year.
The Comets moved from fifth to third after a win over Stow-Munroe Falls while Avon Lake defeated rival Avon. The Shoremen debuted at No. 4 this week. Avon dropped out of the poll for the first time since week two of the 2016 season.
Undefeated Mentor remains No. 1 with Hoban second. They were the only two schools to receive first place votes this week.
St. Edward and St. Ignatius are fifth and sixth, respectively, after each recorded its first victory of the season last week.
Strongsville is seventh, followed by Euclid and Wadsworth. Massillon remained in the top 10 by narrowly winning the fan vote on Twitter @HShysteria over rival Canton McKinley as well as Padua and Avon.
ESPN Cleveland’s coverage of high school football on Friday will feature play-by-play of Keystone at Columbia as well as updates throughout the evening on teams across Northeast Ohio. High School Hysteria begins at 6:45 p.m. Friday on ESPN 850 WKNR.
