Utah State cuts ties with troubled DiLoreto

Utah State announced today that it has dismissed center Anthony DiLoreto from the program. DiLoreto, a freshman, redshirted this season. He already had strikes against him after pleading no contest to a bank robbery charge coming out of high school, and had been on suspension after an arrest in February for marijuana possession.

"We were considering the possibility of Anthony being reinstated to our program," Utah State coach Stew Morrill said in a statement. "Unfortunately, he has failed to meet the established criteria necessary to return as a player at Utah State."

The Aggies might have benefited from DiLoreto's 7-foot-1 presence, but carrying a player with that amount of baggage never did look good for the defending WAC regular season champions.
