Congress honors Dayton for NIT title

Duke got to visit the White House for winning the NCAA tournament championship, and for beating North Carolina for the NIT title, Dayton got its congratulations on C-SPAN.

The House of Representatives passed a resolution honoring the Flyers earlier this week, with Rep. Mike Turner taking the House floor to praise the school from which he got his MBA.

That Congress would take an interest in Dayton's run in an event some have nicknamed the "Not Invited Tournament" is another bit of positive news for the NIT, which could very well have gone by the wayside had the NCAA tournament expanded to 96 teams.

And for the Flyers, they can now say they won the NIT and all they got was congressional recognition and this T-shirt.
