Middle Tennessee State's nice upgrades

Andy Katz writes on how comfortable a landing spot the Sun Belt Conference has been for coaches, and Middle Tennessee State's Kermit Davis could have told him that as well.

Davis, whose team won a share of the conference title last season and went to the CollegeInsider.com postseason tournament, was rewarded in March with a contract extension to 2014.

The Blue Raiders will start to get comfy as well coming off a 19-win season now that some of their facilities have been renovated. MTSU among other upgrades got a new player lounge complete with a flat-screen HDTV and a nice computer study area that had better limit access to Facebook and Twitter if it's to actually be used for studying.

"It gives our players a great environment to learn in, develop a togetherness and is also a great recruiting tool for our basketball program," Davis said in a statement.
