Utah State draws a tough assignment

Last season, Saint Mary's pulled off a stunner against Utah State. The Gaels went into The Spectrum and ended the Aggies' 37-game home winning streak and 65-game regular-season nonconference home winning streak.

This year, Saint Mary's will get Utah State in Moraga in one of the most anticipated games of BracketBusters.

"Saint Mary's at Saint Mary's in BracketBuster is a tough assignment," Utah State coach Stew Morrill said in a statement. "I thought we already did this. We know firsthand how good they are. Hopefully, we can play a little better than last time we were there. Saint Mary's is a talented and well-coached program."

Utah State could very well be 25-2 heading into the Feb. 19 game and would need a victory to bolster its at-large chances given that the two losses came to BYU and Georgetown.

Saint Mary's and Utah State will end up playing in four straight seasons, with the Gaels heading to Logan next year as part of a second straight home-and-home series.

But for now, the Aggies face a tough task in matching up against a strong Saint Mary's backcourt and a team that also plays exceptionally well at home.

"Obviously, you would prefer to play at home," Morrill said. "It becomes a huge challenge when you're on the road against a great team. "
