TALLAHASSEE -- It probably could have been worse for ACC leader Maryland in the first half.
The Terrapins trail FSU 29-25 at the half at the Tucker Center. Maryland had seven turnovers and went 0-for-6 on 3-pointers.
FSU wasn't much better, shooting 33.3 percent from the floor and turning the ball over nine times in the first 20 minutes.
FSU guard Derwin Kitchen played big in the first half and leads all scorers with 11 points. Maryland's Greivis Vasquez scored 10 points and forward Landon Milbourne added seven points and three steals.
As expected, the Terps are getting killed on the boards by the bigger 'Noles. FSU out-rebounded Maryland 26-16 in the first half. The Terps have done a good job of attacking the basket, and the Seminoles had only two blocked shots in the half.
Obviously, both teams are playing pretty tight defense. The officials have let them play, calling only nine fouls combined in the first half.
