Twitter led to suspension on Senior Night, player tweets

Idaho guard Kashif Watson might have made a halfcourt shot that got him time on SportsCenter last night, but he learned today that he'll miss Senior Night after being suspended by coach Don Verlin for conduct detrimental to the program.

Watson, the team's second-leading scorer, tweeted that it was comments he made on Twitter that led to his benching for his last game at Cowan Spectrum on Saturday against Hawaii.

The Spokesman-Review reported that it approached Verlin last night about an offending tweet (which I won't link due to some profanity), that reads, "Don't gett how we pose to win wit this guy coachin us, just don't want it that bad I guess."

Yeah, that'll do it, with the tweet coming shortly after last week's loss to Louisiana Tech. A tweet the night before makes comments about former LA Tech star Karl Malone, and the week before, there was this.

It's not as if Verlin hasn't made comments out of frustration before. But for Watson, those apparently will cost him playing time on what should have been his special day.
