College hoops season has finally arrived. I say "finally" not only because the offseason is interminably long (though it is that), but also because it feels like we've been previewing the 2012-13 season for months. Actually, when you throw in this summer's Three Big Things feature, and our Summer Shootarounds, I suppose we have.
Needless to say, I'm as excited as anyone -- with the possible exception of Edge -- to get this season started. But before we dive into tonight's festivities, here's a quick compendium of ESPN.com college hoops 2012-13 season previews:
This week, Myron Medcalf, Fran Fraschilla, Joe Lunardi and yours truly convened for our first-ever college preseason draft, wherein we selected six players, one coach and one arena each. It was a lot of fun. Later, former Tennessee coach Bruce Pearl wrote a guest post critiquing our selections. (I humbly disagree. Obviously my team is the best.)
Myron Medcalf reacts to the preseason list of Wooden Award nominees.
On Thursday, I published my annual 1-thru-32 conference rankings. (Spoiler alert: The Big Ten is best.)
Today, Dana O'Neil celebrated our sport's suddenly coordinated, first-of-its-kind opening day.
Jason King wrote about the Pac-12's return from the 2011-12 abyss (it was bad, believe me).
I looked at the 25 nonconference games you can't miss in the next two months.
Dana chronicled the rise of college basketball's three-state hoops paradise: Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio.
Jason delivered perhaps the definitive anecdote of Kentucky coach John Calipari's wizardry, the first portion of this excellent story about the man around whom college basketball now seems to revolve.
I wrote about how the one-and-done rule, and other causes, have made high-level college hoops such a volatile year-to-year enterprise.
Oh, I participated in a wide-ranging Reddit AMA ("Ask Me Anything"), which featured plenty of good discussion about the season to come.
And much, much more!
