Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.
1. What a run it was for the Sooners through the Big 12 baseball tournament. Today the regionals will be unveiled at 11.a.m. CT on ESPNU, and it will be interesting to see if OU played its way into a No. 2 seed. If so, the Sooners could end up going to Rice, which is one of the 16 regional hosts, but not a national seed. The Owls are ranked No. 11 and the country. OU and Rice have not played this season.
2. I really like the way Sunny Golloway's pitching staff has rounded into form. Starting pitchers Jordan John and Dillon Overton form a stellar one-two punch, and Steven Okert has been nails out of the bullpen. If guys like Garrett Carey and Matt Oberste continue to hit from the bottom of the lineup, OU will be tough to keep out of the winner's bracket.
3. Not a bad weekend for OU athletics. Chirapat Jao-Javani won the NCAA Division I individual women's golf title by four strokes, becoming the first Sooner golfer to win an individual national title. The softball team advanced to the Women's College World Series. And the baseball team narrowly lost in the Big 12 championship game.
