INDIANAPOLIS – Wade Phillips will always take a share of the blame when a player doesn't produce.
However, he acknowledges that there's a fine line on that issue. How can a coach accept blame and still make sure the player has accountability?
"Competition does a lot of that, and then you have to know your players," Phillips said. "There are certain guys it doesn't matter if you have somebody competing against them or not, they are going to play harder or do better. Then there are some guys the coach is going to have to point out more things to them."
