IRVING -- The Cowboys have until 3 p.m. CT to cut their roster to 75.
The Cowboys did some snooping around to see if they could trade safety Pat Watkins, but teams bypassed -- thinking he was going to get cut anyway.
The Cowboys are also exploring their options with several players in terms of possible trade. Wide receivers Patrick Crayton and Sam Hurd expressed an interest in possibly leaving the team after the draft. Since training camp started, Crayton and Hurd said they want to stay. If the Cowboys want to go younger at the position, Kevin Ogletree or possibly Jesse Holley, Hurd and Crayton could become expendable.
Crayton has been one of the more dependable wide receivers in training camp and the preseason. With the emergence of rookie Dez Bryant, it could mean fewer snaps for Crayton because Bryant moves to the third receiver spot behind starters Miles Austin and Roy Williams.
Do you keep McCray and Church over Hurd?
The Cowboys will keep them over Watkins, who is another strong special teams player.
Plenty of decisions to make in the next week.
