With DeMarcus Ware slowed with a quadriceps strain that is likely to keep him out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles -- if not longer -- the Cowboys needed to add to their defensive end rotation. Edgar Jones has missed the past two games with a groin strain.
Wynn, 6-3, 285 pounds, played in five games this season for the San Diego Chargers and had two tackles and a sack. He played against the Cowboys but did not record a tackle. He has also played for the Green Bay Packers and Tennessee Titans. In 48 career games he has 36 tackles and 7.5 sacks.,
Owner and general manager Jerry Jones said on KRLD-FM Tuesday the team is not willing to give up a “high draft pick,” in a possible trade for a defensive lineman. The trade deadline is Oct. 29.
“You’re always scouring the streets, and one of the things we’ve found out is defensive linemen are hot commodities, and you’ve got to be creative in who you can bring in here to try to help you during the season,” coach Jason Garrett said Monday. “Our pro guys have done a great job of that up to this point -- finding different guys that are on the street, on somebody’s practice roster, on somebody’s roster -- to help our team, and we’ll continue that process and try to address some of these injuries that we have.”
